Privacy Policy

Fintrest  ·  Last updated: 26 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how GANESAI PTY LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”), the developer of the Fintrest mobile application (the “App”), collects, uses, stores, and discloses your information. By using Fintrest, you agree to the practices described here.

1. A summary in plain language

2. Information we collect

a. Account information

When you create an account or sign in (by email/password or Google Sign-In), we collect your email address, and — if provided by Google Sign-In — your display name and profile photo URL, along with a unique account identifier. This is handled through Google Firebase Authentication and is used solely to authenticate you and associate your data with your account.

b. Financial information you enter

Fintrest lets you record transactions, accounts, budgets, savings goals, investments, properties, bills, invoices, and related notes. This information is created and stored locally on your device. We do not have access to it unless you enable optional cloud sync (see Section 4).

c. Location information

If you use the Driver Logbook feature, the App requests access to your device location to record trip distances for your own mileage records. Location is used only while you are actively using that feature, is stored with your logbook entries, and is never used for advertising or tracking. The App does not access your location in the background. You can decline the location permission and still use the rest of the App; only the automatic trip-distance feature will be unavailable.

d. Subscription and purchase information

Fintrest offers an optional “Fintrest Pro” subscription. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing, and subscription status is managed through RevenueCat. We and RevenueCat receive information about your subscription status and a purchase identifier so we can unlock Pro features and manage renewals. We do not receive or store your full payment card details — those are handled by Google Play.

e. Advertising information (free tier)

On the free tier, the App displays ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may access your device’s advertising identifier and standard technical ad-request data (such as device type, approximate region, and IP address). Upgrading to Fintrest Pro removes all ads. You can also limit ad personalisation through your device’s advertising settings.

f. Technical information

Like most apps, standard technical information (such as device model, operating-system version, and diagnostic error data) may be processed to keep the App working and secure. The App uses Firebase App Check to protect against abuse.

3. How we use your information

We do not use your financial data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

4. Where your data is stored (device vs cloud)

By default, your data is stored only on your device in the App’s private storage. Nothing you record is transmitted to us.

You may optionally enable Cloud Sync. When enabled and while you are signed in, your syncable data is copied to your own private area of Google Firestore, stored under an identifier tied to your account (users/{your-account-id}/…). Access is restricted by security rules so that only your signed-in account can read or write your data. Turning Cloud Sync off stops all further uploads; your on-device copy remains the working copy. Certain items (such as receipt images and device-specific settings) are not cloud-synced.

5. Third-party services

Fintrest relies on the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:

6. Data sharing and disclosure

We only share information as needed to operate the services above (for example, authentication and subscription processing). We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent fraud or abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

7. Data retention and deletion

Data you record is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. If Cloud Sync is enabled, your cloud copy is retained until you delete it or delete your account.

You can delete your data at any time: individual records can be deleted within the App, and you can delete your entire account from the App’s Settings. Deleting your account removes your authentication record and, where Cloud Sync was used, your synced cloud data. To request deletion assistance, contact us at the email below.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including access-controlled cloud storage rules, transport encryption (HTTPS), and abuse protection via Firebase App Check. The App also offers an optional biometric / PIN lock to protect on-device access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

Fintrest is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

11. International users

The App uses cloud infrastructure provided by Google, which may process and store data on servers located outside your country. By using the App (and enabling Cloud Sync), you consent to such processing consistent with this policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
